Introduction
WHO ARE WE?
We are a group of citizens fighting to improve the treatment of companion animals. Our main battle at the present time is that against puppy mills.
OUR MANDATE
UPRA wants all citizens to be allowed to have the chance to cohabitate with animals born from ethical breeding.
UPRA has undertaken the mandate to promote the respect of animals by:
Creating awareness by the people of Québec to the problems which exist in the companion animal industry.
Promoting the development of ethical breeding of companion animals.
More than 400,000 dogs are produced annually in puppy mills. This activity represents an annual revenue of more than $600 million in Québec. No need to add that this money is, for the most part, ''under the table'' (undeclared income). These dogs are sold via classified ads, on the internet and in pet shops.
Join our fight! We need you, and so do the animals!
